It is 1939, in a small village populated by Jews, when Shlomo, considered by everyone to be the madman, announces to the citizens the imminent arrival of the Germans: the Nazis, he says, are deporting all the Jewish inhabitants of the neighboring towns and soon it will be their turn as well. During the council of wise men, Shlomo comes up with a somewhat bizarre proposal: to escape the Germans, all the inhabitants will organize a fake deportation train that will take them safely to Palestine, to their home. The villagers get to work to bring the idea of a madman to lifeā¦
The central theme is that of the journey towards salvation, a salvation that history does not recount because it exists only in Shlomo's fantasy version. In reality, the protagonist experiences the daily and inhuman wickedness of the camps.
In the theatrical representation, dream and reality become confused, and words of poetic invention alternate with real testimonies about the atrocities of Nazism. Through the theme of the Holocaust, the show aims to highlight the dehumanizing effects of ideology and power on the individual.
Moments of storytelling alternate with choreographic and scenic games that transform the setting, which shifts between the protagonist's imagination and reality.
